Coach Jess

Hey! I’m coach Jess, I’m a mom of 2 girls, 9 and 5. I will be coaching the Crimson, 7/8 team, as well as the Traditional Competition team this season. I have been cheering for most of my life. I started cheering as a youth cheerleader in Tigard, then joined a local all-star team, continuing on to cheer for all-star as well as for my high school Varsity team. I loved cheerleading so much that I started coaching at 15 years old, coaching an all-star Tiny team for 5 years. I took a break from cheerleading to get married and have my kiddos and have now been back coaching for Sherwood Youth Cheer going on 5 years. I love to share my love for cheerleading with young athletes and am excited to continue building a legacy with Sherwood Youth Cheer!

Coach Tess

Hi I'm coach Tess. I started my love of cheer in the fourth grade with Tualatin Youth Cheer. I cheered for nine years including four years in high school and one year at Pacific University. My teams won nationals, State championships and All State stunt group championships. I've coached at the high school level and at the all star level for tumbling and junior & senior competitive teams. I've also judged for many years at the youth/high school divisions and for Varsity for the all star division. Did I mention that I love cheer? I’ve been with Sherwood Youth Cheer for two seasons and I’m ready to make the third the best one yet! My husband and I live in Sherwood with our three girls and our dog, Maggie. Another fun fact: I also did competitive swimming for 8 years!

Minis Team- Coach Kelsea and Coach Aspen

Coach Kelsea

My name is Kelsea & I am an AMI Montessori trained teacher from Salt Lake City, Utah. I cheered on my high school cheer team in Hanford, California & coached the Sweethearts team last year. I am looking forward to seeing how much the returning cheerleaders have grown & to see them mentor the new athletes!

Coach Aspen

Hi, I'm Aspen! I cheered for both Sherwood High School and Western Oregon University. I have a passion for cheer and football. After college, I had custody of my half-brother and became a team mom for football because I couldn't stay away from the sports. Now that my daughter is joining cheer, I jumped at the opportunity to be a coach. I love being involved in the community and helping others. I often help at my daughter's daycare just to spend time with the little ones. I look forward to a fun-filled season and am so excited to meet everyone!

Youth Team- Coach Lynda and Coach Jessica

Coach Lynda

Hi I’m Lynda! I’m currently working on my bachelors of science in chemistry and plan to graduate in June! This is my second year of coaching with SYC! This program means a lot to me because I cheered for Sherwood Youth Cheer from 4th-8th grade and then moved on to cheering at Sherwood High School for Bowmen Cheer until I graduated. This season I’m most excited to meet new faces and spread my love for cheer and dance to these athletes!

Coach Jessica

Coach Jessica started cheer when she was just 7 years old and has cheered on many competitive All-Star teams since then! Her teams won multiple national championships and she was a captain of her high school team. Her senior year of high school she even made the All-American cheer team and flew to London to perform in their New Years Day parade representing the US. You can always find her with a coffee in hand and a positive attitude and smile! This season she’s excited to connect with her team and show them being a cheerleader is something you are on and off the field.
